Hi, everyone. My little Keziah Mayapple (Kizzie May) is now a year old. From the start, I noticed that she has a bottom row of teeth (up front and right below her canines) that is like double tracks! Instead of one of these teeth, she has two. Has anyone encountered this problem? Is it serious, and what should I do? She also has really bad breath, which I'm not sure if her teeth problems are causing that, or something else.
My yorkie has extremely bad breath & when you look at her teeth some are missing and some are rotten. She was like that when I bought her though so I dont really know what to do either, i figured her teeth were causing her bad beath some people say its because their anal glands need to be squeezed. But i just buy her treats that clean her teeth. They dont really do much though
Hi Savannah, I have read your problem with interest. This is a very common problem with Yorkies, and has to be addressed by your Vet, the sooner the better. My 9month old Tango is having the same problem even though he has chews and dry food, as well as food that I cook specially for him. I'm lucky as my son is a vet practicing in England, where I am going for the Christmas vacation. My son will perform any procedures necessary, saving me a lot of fees at my local surgery. Please take your Yorkie for treatment asap as his adult teeth will be seriously out of alignment and will give rise to tartar build up and bad breath. If possible, get a beef bone from your butcher and let her chew on it. Hope this is helpful.
